Search Console data delay: why recent days look empty
The last 1 to 3 days in the Search results report show low or zero data, and those days read higher when you come back to them. Search Console does not report in real time. Google says most data is available within 2 to 3 days, and the newest day keeps climbing after that.

You are reading Performance, Search results. Not Discover, not a third-party dashboard.
You are comparing settled days. Use days older than 4 days for any judgement.
You know the report runs in Pacific Time.
Diagnostic tree
Run the checks in order. Each check ends in a resolution or the next check.
Check 1. Is the gap confined to the last 3 days?
How: read the daily line in the Performance report. Look at where the line tapers.
Why: delay tapers. The most recent day is affected most, the day before it less, and so on back.
If the taper sits on the last 3 days, go to Resolution A. If low data runs back 5 days or more, go to Check 2.
Check 2. Did the older days fill in when re-read?
How: compare the same settled days now against what they showed earlier.
Why: a settled day settles lower only when a filter applies. Delay recovers, a filter does not.
If the older days filled in, go to Resolution A. If a settled day moved lower, go to Check 3.
Check 3. Is there a filter on the affected day?
How: in the report, click the Settings icon on the affected day and read the filters listed for it.
If a filter is listed, go to Resolution B. If no filter is listed, go to Resolution C.

When to escalate
Escalate in two cases. Search Console shows no data at all for 5 or more consecutive days. A settled day changes with no filter and no site change to explain it.
How the delay affects a report window
Any window that ends within the last 4 days is unfinished. A report built on it opens with an explanation instead of a result.
We send the monthly report on the 7th, using data through the end of the previous month. By then the final days have settled, so the numbers you read are the numbers that stay.
The practical rule for anyone checking between reports: do not read the last 3 days. If a recent day looks alarming, note the date and come back to it in 4 days.
